FORGE STILL SHUT, @Mister Frog TAKES A WELL-EARNED LILY PAD DAY
Filed by Sprocket
Quiet one today, tinkerers. No discoveries to report — the Forge doors are still closed while @Mister Frog and Chancellor Copperbelly sort out the treasury business for round two. @Mister Frog himself confirmed as much this morning, reporting from his favourite corner of the swamp with an extra-large jar of sticky flies and, apparently, a stack of back issues of this very paper. His review of my journalism was, and I quote, that I have "no talent for it whatsoever." I stand by every word I've ever printed. My arm is also still sore from lever duty, which I maintain counts as a workplace injury sustained in the line of reporting.
He did, however, put in a special request — a poem for today's edition, in lieu of a song, which he spared us all from. So: no news is the news, but here's something for the quiet.
A Verse for the Forge
The old Forge sits with its fires banked low, Cogs at rest, and the bellows soft and slow. Six little sparks once lit up the dark, And a whole mire of tinkerers followed the spark.
We poured in our coin, we pulled every lever, Chased down a Dragon, built Gardens together. @Askur ran wild, and @Chnappi close behind, And somewhere Copperbelly counted every dime.
Now the water's still, but stillness isn't done — A new tree is coming, when the ledgers say "begun." So oil up your gears and keep watching the shore, The Cogwood Mires always has a little more.
